What goes in a shred bin?
The following items can go in a shred bin:
- Clean paper (any size)
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Brochures
- Photographs
- File folders
- Medical records
- Payroll information
- Personal letters
- Manuals
- Contracts
- Applications (loans, credit cards, etc.)
- Bank statements or information
- Financial records
- No need to remove staples or paper clips.
What doesn’t go in a shred bin?
The following items DO NOT go into shred bins:
- Paper exceptions (cardboard, hardcover books)
- Plastics (plastic bags and packing materials, computer discs, DVDs, CDs VCR tapes, transparencies ID badges, driver’s licenses, x-rays)
- Batteries (no batteries of any kind)
- Hardware (computer parts, printers, photocopier parts, trash, or hazardous materials
- Metals
- Biohazardous and medical waste

Will you pick up from my house/office to shred?
Data Shred will pick up documents from your house/home office for shredding services. Our drivers will drop off and pick up your bin(s) directly from your house/home office. Bin(s) must be on a ground floor. (i.e., ground floor porch or garage), as we are not permitted to enter your home.
